New Breakthrough project launched

On September 1st we launched a new programme called Breakthrough, which is  jointly funded through the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund.  Breakthrough aims to breakdown the financial and other barriers that stop people accessing work and further learning and, through a money mentor, helps them to develop their skills and confidence and take steps to move closer towards employment.

Plans to create a South Warwickshire Citizens Advice gets the go-ahead

In October 2015 Warwick District and Stratford upon Avon and District Citizens Advice Trustee Boards agreed to explore the possibility of merging the two services.

The two Trustee Boards have now agreed in principle to the creation of a joint organisation. Following this decision a joint Shadow Board has been established to co-ordinate the preparatory work which will include the appointment of a project manager to take forward the detailed work.

Yvonne Hunter (currently Chair of Stratford Trustee Board) will serve as Chair of the Shadow Board with John Daly (currently Vice Chair of Warwick Trustee Board) as Deputy Chair. The existing Trustee Boards for Warwick and Stratford will remain in place until the new organisation becomes operational.

This will not affect the day to day delivery of our advice and support services. The priority continues to be building on the high quality service which Citizens Advice provides across South Warwickshire. Recent audits have shown that both Stratford and Warwick have exceptional service delivery, staff and volunteers.
